Abstract
The global pharmaceutical industry is facing unprecedented challenges from supply chain disruptions due to complex international networks, regulatory changes, and emerging global risks. This manuscript examines the causes and consequences of these disruptions and proposes strategies for building resilience. The research explores historical supply chain challenges, with a comprehensive literature review covering studies up to 2017, and employs a mixed-methods approach integrating quantitative data analysis with qualitative interviews of industry experts. Findings indicate that while globalization has increased efficiency and innovation, it has also rendered the supply chain vulnerable to unexpected shocks such as geopolitical instability, natural disasters, and pandemics. To mitigate these vulnerabilities, the study recommends a multi-pronged strategy that includes diversification of supply sources, advanced risk management practices, and the integration of digital technologies for real-time monitoring and predictive analytics. The manuscript concludes with policy recommendations for industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to promote sustainable supply chain practices and ensure a consistent supply of critical pharmaceutical products.
